A collection of screen-printed mirrors protesting any acceptance of sexual harassment and abuse. Exhibited in Limerick in 2018.
This collection of screen-printed mirrors was created in response to the revolution song by Crass, ‘How Does It Feel’. The messages on the mirrors are a protest to society’s attitude towards, and acceptance of, sexual harassment and abuse. The mirrors force the viewer to realise that they are also part of this society. Witnessing these common and seemingly innocent phrases in this context, in connection to their own reflection, the harmful implications of these words become obvious to the viewer.
The collection was shown in Fab Lab Limerick as part of the collaborative end-of-year exhibition for Graphic Design Communication Print Contemporary Practice students in 2018. The exhibition was titled '33 Revolutions Per Minute' and was built around themes of protest, rebellion, and the power of design in revolutionary movements throughout history.
