‘Borders, boundaries and edges define a frame around an individual, an area or an idea. They indicate where one thing ends and another begins’. A liminal space is the time between the ‘what was’ and the ‘next.’ It is a place of transition, waiting, and not knowing. Liminal space is where all transformation takes place, if we learn to wait and let it form us.
For the zine, I wanted to visualise an
abstract moment, a liminal space. I used 35mm photography and an office scanner to physically capture and manipulate moments in time, as a way of keeping the project as analogue as possible, and experimenting with a different creative process. These product shots were taken in my bedroom, my DIY photography studio during lockdown!
